The Steinberg Winter Classic

The Steinberg Winter Classic was created by Mr. Joe Fresta, Jr., a Two-Time testicular cancer survivor and avid hockey player. The historic Steinberg Ice Rink will play host to the outdoor, 3 on 3 hockey tournament situated inside beautiful Forest Park in St. Louis. Forest Park is the largest city park in the United States. The fifty five year old outdoor ice rink is the largest in the midwest, and will accommodate three games simultaneously. The two-day tournament will be played outdoors, reminiscent of the games earliest days when it was played in the winter elements on frozen lakes and ponds. All proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Cancer Care Foundation, directly aiding local families with loved ones stricken with the deadly disease.

The Buddy Fund

Since 1962 the Buddy Fund has helped more than 450,000 kids.
We believe that organized sports participation is a first-line character-building alternative to the destructive forces faced by kids with limited parenting and/or who are growing up in difficult neighborhoods. Our local charity supports organizations such as boys & girls clubs, community centers, police athletic leagues, homes for children, and after school programs.

Telluride Animal Foundation

The Telluride Animal Foundation is founded on the principle that creating better lives for animals will enhance the human life. We strive to be the connective glue and inspiration to take animal lovers and turn them into advocates, spreading the word to limit the number of unwanted animals through education about adopting shelters and rescue dogs and to increase the number of spay and neuter clinics available to the public. We aim to enhance the quality of existing shelters and sanctuaries and create a network amongst them to provide better adoption rates in the extended area, and to connect volunteers with local organizations.

University of Missouri-Columbia

The University of Missouri boasts the first journalism school, founded by Walter Williams in 1908. Each year, Missouri students win national contests - some even in competition with working professionals - that demonstrate conclusively just how much they have learned. Each year, our alumni win major national and international competitions, further illustrating the value of a Missouri journalism degree. Many have won Pulitzer Prizes, the news profession's highest honor, Silver Anvils, the top prize for public relations professionals, and similar awards. MU alumni can be found in newsrooms and corporate boardrooms of media companies and advertising and public relations agencies around the globe.
