Last week Newsy unveiled the latest version of their iPad app. Version 3.2 offers several new features that enhance the Newsy experience including category-based push notifications, an improved user interface, improved AirPlay attributes and a brand new "Watch Offline" feature. The new category push notifcations now keeps users informed without having to leave the lock screen. The notifications provide users with updates based upon their favorite types of stories without having the app loaded. The improved feature now includes transcripts and comments in full screen mode bringing the Newsy experience into your home. Furthermore, the new version includes a "Watch Offline" feature. Not only is this the only news app that allows users to watch videos without internet conection, but it enables users to stay even more engaged and connected with the world. In June, Newsy rolled out version 3.0 of it’s iPad app. The new iPad app also won the 2011 Appy Award for Best News App, beating out FlipBoard and CNN. In April, Newsy raised 1.5 million dollar in new funding to expand with its original programming as well as expanding overseas.
